Supporting Area Development Connectivity, Ministry Of PUPR Accelerates Gorontalo Outer Ring Road Development
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Bina Marga is completing the construction of the Gorontalo Outer Ring Road (GORR) to support the connectivity and development of the Gorontalo area and its surroundings.
The GORR road stretches along 46.2 km connecting Jalaluddin Airport with Gorontalo Port, which is also connected to the economic activity centers of Gorontalo City as the provincial capital.
Expert Staff to the Minister of PUPR for Industrial and Environmental Technology as well as Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja said inter-area connectivity is needed so that logistics mobility (goods and services) and humans are more efficient.
"With the construction of this GORR, we want to see the more competitive city of Gorontalo moving forward. It is able to anticipate the direction of urban development and accommodate space for the city's economic growth," said Endra spokesman in a written statement, Monday, June 12.
The construction of the GORR road is one of the non-paid national roads carried out by the Gorontalo National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) in stages since 2014 which is divided into three segments.
Meanwhile, Head of BPJN Gorontalo Agung Sutardjo said, Segment I was carried out for 15.7 km leaving road work unconnected along 1.47 km and a bridge at STA 7 + 700-8 + 500.
Currently, the completion of the I segment is being carried out to meet the specifications of the 12-meter-long lane width of 1.05 km, as well as the construction of a 296-meter bridge. The budget for the completion of the I Segment is allocated in 2022-2024 worth IDR 285 billion.
"Furthermore, the Segment II has been connected for 15.3 km with the condition of asphalt," said Endra.

Meanwhile, the 15.17 km segment III has completed its feasibility study or feasibility study (FS), Detail Engineering Design (DED), and is currently in the land acquisition stage at several points.
In addition, the GORR road also supports the connectivity of three corn-producing areas, namely Gorontalo City, Bone Bolango Regency, and Gorontalo Regency.
