SIDOARJO - Governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa ensured that the sacrificial animals in the local province received the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) vaccine so that people would be calmer when they sacrificed.
"The prevention of LSD through vaccination continues. Until now, the Ministry of Agriculture is preparing around 200 thousand LSD vaccines for East Java," he said while inspecting one of the farms, One Qolbu Farm, in Sidoarjo Regency, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.
Not only regarding the condition of the sacrificial animal, Khofifah also highlighted the slaughter of animals because this is an important part of the requirement for Eid al-Adha.
"A few days before Eid al-Adha, we will check the Halal Animal Slaughter House (RPH). At least they have received certification or training as Juleha or Juru Sembelih Halal. We have met with more than 1,000 Juleha East Java representing prayer rooms and mosques," he said.

Khofifah invited other provinces to absorb sacrificial animals from East Java. Given, the current need for sacrificial animals is more than sufficient for the people of East Java.
"God willing, the people of East Java can get sacrificial animals easily and healthyly to meet the requirements. So if there are other provinces that need it, please go to East Java," said Khofifah.
Khofifah wants to make sure all livestock are safe, healthy, and meet the requirements as sacrificial animals. Not only that, all parties must also be on standby and maintain conditions from livestock so that they are safe and healthy.
"We want to make sure that the sacrificial animals are safe, healthy, good, and sufficient. Safe is not only free of PMK, but that they meet the requirements to be used as sacrificial animals because there are conditions such as their teeth are dated, quite old, and so on," said Khofifah.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Food and Agriculture Office of Sidoarjo Regency, Eni Rustianingsih, said that Sidoarjo's needs based on last year's calculations were estimated at 7,000 cows.
"We can prepare a maximum of 2,000 cows. So far, 1,500 have been collected, while taking from other districts there are around 4,500. For sheep and goats, God willing, we are ready. There are 39,000 sheep, while 35,000 goats," he said.
