Jokowi Will Promote IKN Development In Ecosperity Singapore

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will promote the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN), investment in energy transition, and green infrastructure at the 2023 Ecosperity Week, in Singapore.

"This meeting was attended by many investors, academics, and the government, and I will use this meeting to promote investment, especially in the fields of energy transition, green infrastructure and IKN development," President Jokowi said at a press conference before taking off from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.

Jokowi said the visit, which was carried out with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the limited delegation, was a short working visit. After leaving Singapore, on Wednesday afternoon, Jokowi immediately left for Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, to fulfill the agenda of meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Malaysian King Yang in Agong Sultan Abdullah.

Jokowi will only be a few hours in Singapore.

Singapore's Ecosperity Week 2023, which carries the theme Breakthroughs for Net Zero, or a breakthrough for net zero emissions, will bring together global business leaders, policy makers, investors, and civil society from various industries to discuss technology.

Then policies and financial support that have a high impact in presenting transformative breakthroughs for businesses, communities and planets. Ecosperity was held by Temasek Singapore.

After a working visit in Singapore and Malaysia, Jokowi is scheduled to arrive in the country on Thursday (8/6) night.
