Sandhy Sondoro Wants To Bring Indonesia's Good Name During A Concert In Bulgaria
Singer Sandhy Sondoro said he and composer Erwin Gutawa and the team involved wanted to bring Indonesia's good name through the "Harmonature" concert which will be held in Bulgaria.
The concert, which was initiated by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Sofia, Bulgaria, will be held on June 8 at the amphitheater of the Philippopolis in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
"(Through this concert) We want to bring Indonesia's good name to make it even better in the eyes of the international community," Sandhy said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday.
Apart from Sandhy, the concert will feature young pesinden and puppeteer Woro Mustiko, an environmentally friendly batik fashion show by As Far As Eyes Views those demonstrated by the Bulgarian model, Bulgarian singer Petya Paneva who sang Indonesian songs, as well as other performers.
This concert also involved Jay Subiyakto as an art director who prepared the concept and technical performances by presenting a combination of traditional and audiovisual technology.
"The spirit that is being brought is that we will inform Europe and the outside world that Indonesia can also progress in terms, in the sophistication of art, stage lighting, and all kinds of things, and we are modern," said Sandhy.
Having the opportunity to appear in one of the ancient Roman theaters in a rich world preserving the history of civilization, Sandhy admitted that this was an achievement for him. He also appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian Embassy in Sofia who was able to make the concert happen.
Sandhy also hopes that the cooperation relationship between Indonesia and Bulgaria will be closer to all fields, including the fields of culture, economy, and education.
"For me this is one of the achievements too, yes, I can play there. And hopefully they can also get to know the Indonesian people better, know about Indonesia," he said.
To prepare for the concert, Sandhy said he and the team fronted by Erwin Gutawa would conduct training in early June before flying to Bulgaria on June 4. After that, the team will return to training in Bulgaria before the concert is finally held on June 8, 2023.

"This is my second trip with Mas Erwin and his ethnochestra. What's already cool," said Sandhy.
The "Harmonature" concert will be held for free for Bulgarians starting June 8, 2023 at 21.00 local time which will be broadcast live through the Indonesian Embassy's YouTube channel in Bulgaria.
