Prosecutors Detain 2 New Suspects In The West Aceh MTQ Hoarding Corruption Case
The West Aceh District Attorney has again detained two witnesses who have been named as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the West Aceh MTQ land acquisition project worth Rp1.9 billion which was carried out in 2020.
"We will detain these two witnesses at the Class II Meulaboh Penitentiary for the next 20 days," said Head of the West Aceh District Attorney's Office, Siswanto, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 29.
There are also two suspects who have been detained, each with the initials FY as Director of CV OD, and suspect AJ as the party who lent the company belonging to the suspect FY. Both are supervisory consultants in the project.
Siswanto said the two were named suspects after investigators from the West Aceh District Attorney's Office found indications of the involvement of the two suspects in a corruption case currently being handled by the local Kejari.
"We have detained these two suspects because both of them stated that the project was declared complete. In fact, the project has not yet been completed," he said.
Siswanto said on Tuesday (23/5) last week his party had also detained three suspects in the same case.
The three suspects who have been detained consist of SA as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) at the Perkim Office of West Aceh Regency. Then MS as the executor of the activity as well as IS as the owner of the company.
Kajari Siswanto explained that the three were named suspects after the West Aceh District Attorney found indications of state financial losses of more than Rp. 399 million, according to the results of an audit by the Aceh Province BPKP.
