Fuel Tank Truck Burns On Merak Toll Road, Pertamina Will Investigate The Cause

JAKARTA - There was an incident of a tank truck fire belonging to PT Pertamina (Persero) early this morning on the Merak-Tangerang kilometer (Km) 55 Toll Road.

The car is transporting Pertalite and Biosolar fuel oil (BBM). The cause of the fire is still being investigated today.

Acting Area Manager Communication Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Subholding Commercial & Trading Regional West Java Joevan Yudha Achmad said the fire incident occurred on Sunday, May 28 at 03.30 WIB.

"The car brought 16 KL of Pertalite and Biosolar 8 KL with Police Number B 9138 YB," he said in an official statement, Sunday, May 28.

Furthermore, Joevan emphasized that there were no casualties in the Pertamina tank car fire incident.

"There were no victims in this incident. The fire was successfully extinguished with the help of the local fire department. The cause of the incident will be further investigated in collaboration with the authorities," he said.

Pertamina, continued Joevan, this incident will not interfere with the supply of fuel in Banten and its surroundings.

"The needs of community fuel can still be met from the nearest Pertamina gas stations," he said.
