Tyson Fury Has Sent A Contract To Anthony Joshua For The September Duel

JAKARTA - WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury claims to have sent a contract draft to Anthony Joshua (AJ) in preparation for the blockbuster in September.

In the draft, Fury arranges a fight against his compatriot who is a former two-time world champion at Wembley Stadium.

"A few days ago I sent a draft contract to Anthony Joshua for a fight in September at Wembley Stadium," Fury said on Instagram as quoted by Boxing Scene, Saturday, May 27.

Fury has repeatedly wanted to return to the ring after his last fight took place last December. At that time he dominated to stop Derek Chisora in their trilogy fight.

Meanwhile, Joshua only won an absolute twelve round over Jermaine Franklin last April. It was a win he got after losing twice in a row to Oleksandr Usyk.

"This is a fight everyone wants to see including me. Come on AJ, let's give it to the world what they want to see. The ball is now in your hands. Side," Fury said.

According to various media reports, Fury and Joshua are currently negotiating requirements for a possible major fight.

They previously almost reached a duel agreement in 2021. However, their negotiations ultimately failed after Deontay Wilder was ordered against Fury to continue the trilogy fight in their contracts.

Joshua and Fury also had discussions about a duel plan last year. However, again failed after both sides were unable to agree to various requirements such as the right date and place to stage their fight.

Fury had previously also negotiated against Usyk for the unification of the title last month. However, the unification duel in the end could not be realized either.

Fury's team then tried to approach Andy Ruiz and Zhilei Zhang for the summer fight. However, this plan is unlikely to materialize, especially Zhang who is under a rematch contract with Joe Joyce.
