Google Users Can Now Trial The New AI Generative Feature In Search

JAKARTA - Google has just announced that it is starting to open access to new generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities in Search.

After teasing him at the Google I/O event some time ago, the company finally opened access to the Search Lab.

This new program aims for loyal Google users to experiment and test their various AI features, including providing access to Search Creative Experience (SGE), before a wider release.

Users must first register on the waiting list and wait until they receive an email to get access. They can do so by tapping the Labs icon in the latest version of the Google app either via Android and iOS or on the Chrome desktop.

Users can also visit the Labs site to check the status of the waiting list. Furthermore, a new generative AI-powered tracking experience will help users complete some work from the search.

So, users can understand a topic faster, express new perspectives and insights, and solve various things more easily.

So, instead of asking a series of questions and compiling the information for yourself, Search can now do some of that hard work.

For example, when a user asks a question like Learning ukulele vs guitar. The search will provide an AI-powered snapshot so that users can get help to understand what factors need to be considered.

Or users can ask very specific questions, then Google will present various content from all over the web.

Like when users are getting ready for international travel, but it's a need to make sure the documents are up to date, they just have to find out 'How can I renew my passport quickly?'.

It doesn't take long, Search will find clues for information that needs to be known, or look at the various options available and take the next step with help from the web.

"The search will also display a list of style options, including prices, customer ratings, and links to buy as users search for Wallpaper keywords for in the Kitchen," Google said, quoted from the company's official blog, Friday, May 26.

If users want to explore further, just below the snippet, they will see an option to ask follow-up questions or select the next suggested step, this will take users to conversation mode.

The experiment, Google said, was their first step in adding a generative AI to Tracing, and promised to make many updates and improvements over time.

"As we continue to reimagine how we can make it more natural and intuitive to find what you're looking for, we're happy you can test this new capability and share feedback during the process," Google said.
