The National Police through the Special Task Force (Satgassus) for the Prevention of Corruption at Bareskrim provides assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) in order to prevent corruption.

Member of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Task Force for the Prevention of Corruption, Yudi Purnomo, said that efforts to prevent corruption are a commitment from the National Police so that the potential loss of state money due to corruption can be eliminated.

"We appreciate the Minister of Social Affairs' statement that the National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force accompanied the Ministry of Social Affairs," Yudi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.

Yudi said that preventing corruption was a direct order from the National Police Chief, General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who wants corruption to be prevented so that government programs can run effectively and efficiently in a transparent and accountable manner.

Apart from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Task Force has also carried out prevention activities in various agencies including the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Finance including several SOEs.

The Corruption Prevention Task Force is led by Herry Muryanto as the Head of the Task Force and Novel Baswedan as Deputy Head of the Task Force.

"With the entry of the National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force in improving the system, it can prevent corruption from happening again in these agencies or institutions, but if there are still those who dare to commit criminal acts of corruption, we think it is mandatory to be punished and severely punished," said Yudi.

The former KPK investigator said the National Police Chief also ordered former senior KPK investigator Budi Agung Nugroho to lead the Task Force Team to prevent corruption in the social assistance program (bansos).

Budi was strengthened by a team consisting of former KPK employees, namely March Falentino, Juliandi Tigor Simajuntak, Chandra Sulistio Reksoprodjo, Andi Abdul Rachman and Anissa Rahmadhany.

"They are competent and experienced people in the field of anti-corruption," said Yudi.

Meanwhile, Budi Agung Nugroho explained that the assistance activities for preventing social assistance corruption carried out by his party at the Ministry of Social Affairs such as the Corruption Task Force Bansos Team have communicated with the Ministry of Social Affairs since February 2023 with the same commitment to preventing corruption.

This commitment, he said, was followed up with an intense meeting chaired directly by the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia which discussed issues in the distribution of social assistance related to social protection programs, basic necessities, direct cash assistance and other social assistance in the 2023 Fiscal Year.

"In the implementation of preventing corruption, the Task Force Social Assistance Team together with the Ministry of Social Affairs conducted socialization, audiences and direct visits to the regions when social assistance was distributed," he said.

Then, the team also conducted socialization of the prevention and effectiveness of the distribution of social assistance that had been carried out to PKH and TKSK assistants aimed at distributing social assistance in a transparent and accountable manner and meeting the principles, including on target, on time, and on the right number.

Having an audience with the Social Service in the local area, Himbara, PT Pos Indonesia as the distributor of social assistance, and the Police to find out the distribution process, including obstacles faced in the field.

A direct visit was carried out by the task force by visiting the Beneficiary Families and visiting the distribution location to see if the distribution of social assistance was right on target.

Budi added that in the future the task force will expand the area of corruption prevention to ensure that the distribution of social assistance is carried out effectively and there are no irregularities.

"As well as obtaining information related to the root of problems that are often an issue, especially in the regions in the distribution of social assistance so that they can provide the right solution," said Budi.
