4 Days Lost, SAR Team Still Has Difficulty Finding Fishermen From Alor NTT
The joint SAR team is still conducting a search operation for a fisherman Arba Ali (40), a resident of Bandar Village, Pantar District who went missing while fishing in Pandai Waters, Pantar District, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The SAR team is still trying to find victims by expanding search operations," said Head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office Mexianus Bekabel quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 22. According to him, the search has been lost while fishing in Pandai Waters or about 20.9 nautical miles from Kalabahi Port, Alor Regency on Thursday 18 May. He said the search carried out by the victim's family only found boats and fishing equipment belonging to victims around Crocodile Island. "The ship was found empty without any victims of Arba Ali," said Mexianus Bekabel. According to him, the search has entered the fifth day by deploying the RIB Pos SAR Alor and speed Satpolair Alor to search according to the operation plan.

He said the search operations involving the joint SAR team consisted of rescue teams from the Alor SAR Post, Alor Satpolair, Alor Police, TNI AL Alor Post, Pantar Police, 1622 Alor Kodim, Alor BPBD, local residents, and the victim's family had been expanded by about 10 nautical miles but until Monday (22/5) evening the victim had not been found. "The search operation carried out by the SAR team will continue on Tuesday (23/5)," said Mexianus Bekabel.
