President Jokowi Asks Puteri Indonesia To Participate In Promoting Tourist Destinations

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked Puteri Indonesia 2023 Farhana Nariswari Wisandana and the finalists of the event to participate in promoting tourist destinations.

"Regarding tourism and the creative economy, it is requested that Puteri Indonesia will promote destinations wherever they come from and wherever they work," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 22.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy gave an example of one of the super priority destinations, Labuanbajo in East Nusa Tenggara, which was promoted when they hosted the 42nd ASEAN Summit on 10-11 May 2023.

According to Sandiaga, Jokowi also had time to convey several super priority destinations that would later be entrusted to be promoted by the ranks of Puteri Indonesia 2023, namely Lake Toba in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara), Likupang (North Sulawesi), and Borobudur (Central Java).

In addition, there are several other tourist destinations that will be developed, such as Bangka Belitung, Thousand Islands, Wakatobi, and Raja Ampat.

"This is what is expected from the younger generation to continue to build awareness that the promotion of tourist destinations and creative economy products, starting from culinary, fashion, and craft, we can improve this," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga said the winners and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023 had just returned from Lampung to listen to the beauty of tourism and local creative economy products.

Therefore, Sandiaga believes that the winners and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023 can manage the tourism promotion tasks entrusted.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation as well as Member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, explained that President Jokowi had introduced further details regarding the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago to the winners and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023.

"The president shows a video so that the children know better about IKN's plans in the future," said Putri.

In addition to the winners of Puteri Indonesia 2023, they were also present to receive a briefing from President Jokowi, namely the first runners-up as well as the 2023 Indonesian Tourism Puteri, Yasinta Aurellis, from Lampung and the second runners-up or Puteri Indonesia Environmental 2023, Lulu Zaharani Krisna, from Lampung.
