Judge Rejects Haris Azhar's Exception In The Defamation Case Of Minister Luhut's Name
The Panel of Judges at the East Jakarta District Court (Jaktim) rejected the exception or objection note from the Director of Lokataru Haris Azhar against the indictment of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) in the defamation case of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
"The trial stated that the defendant's legal advisor's exception was unacceptable," said Chief Judge Cokorda Gede Arthana when reading the interlocutory verdict during the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, May 22, which was confiscated by Antara.
The panel of judges also decided that the trial should proceed to the next stage.
"Ordered the examination of criminal cases number 202/pidsus/2023/PN East Jakarta to continue. Presenting court fees until the final decision," explained Judge Cokorda.
Meanwhile, in a separate trial of the panel of judges chaired by Chief Judge Cokorda Gede Arthana also rejected the exception of the Commission's Coordinator for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence Fatia Maulidiyanti.
"The trial stated that the defendant's legal advisor's exception was unacceptable," said Judge Cokorda.

The panel of judges also decided that the trial should proceed to the next stage and ordered the prosecutor to continue the evidence related to the case that ensnared Fatia Maulidiyanti with the process of examining witnesses.
Haris Azhar and Fatia were charged with defaming Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan by the prosecutor.
The indictment was read out by the prosecutor during a trial held at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, April 3.
The prosecutor stated Haris and Fatia's statement in a video uploaded through Haris' YouTube account that defamed Luhut.
The video is titled 'There is no Luhut behind Intan Jaya's economic-ops military relations!! There is also General BIN! What is discussed in the video is a quick study of the Coalition to Clean Indonesia with the title 'Military Placement Economics' in Papua: Intan Jaya Case'.
Haris and Fatia were charged with Article 27 paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 3 of the ITE Law, Article 14 paragraph 2 of Law Number 1 of 1946, Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946, and Article 310 of the Criminal Code concerning Insults.
