Bank Muamalat Strengthens Sharia Financial Ecosystem In Banten

JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia and the Muamalat Institute are committed to strengthening the Islamic financial ecosystem in Banten in collaboration with the Fiqih Syeikh Nawawi Tanara Science College (STIF Syentra).

Head of Distribution Network Manager of Bank Muamalat Indonesia Agung Prambudi said collaboration with educational institutions is very important to develop superior human resources (HR).

"We believe that cooperation with campus community will create a generation of people who will be the best talents for the Islamic banking industry in the future," he said in a press statement, Wednesday, May 17.

According to Agung, competent human resources can have an impact on economic growth and also encourage the development of the Islamic financial industry in Banten.

"This initiative is also proof of our commitment to expanding Islamic financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia," he said.

On the same occasion, the Executive Director of the Muamalat Institute, Anton Hendrianto, stated the importance of honing soft skills for students, especially in the leadership aspect.

"We believe because leadership is very important in shaping a person's character and building self-confidence," he said.

Anton said that currently the challenge faced is the industry gap, namely the existence of a mismatch between the number of tertiary graduates and the unequal number of needs of the Islamic banking industry.

Anton said, this is due to the skill mismatch, graduates currently have skills and competencies that are only superior in the cognitive field but vice versa in social skills and also interpersonal such as problem solving, decidation increasing, and critical thinking still needs to be developed.

Therefore, synergy with the campus through the skill development program is expected to be a step in character formation, because the Islamic banking industry currently needs talents who are able to think out of the box, are creative, and also competent in their fields," he asserted.

Similarly, the Head of STIF Syentra Siti Haniatunnisa positively welcomed this collaboration. According to him, the real steps taken by business actors on campus will strengthen synergy with industries that support the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Campus Merdeka) program from the Ministry of Education and Culture and Tri Dharma Universities.

"This expands the insight, skills, and competence and experience for students, lecturers, and academic community related to the sharia banking industry. The absorption power of graduates that the industry needs is an indicator of the success of campuses in producing competent graduates," he said.

Meanwhile, a number of programs carried out include apprenticeship, training, certification, and also the incubator business for all students, lecturers, and education personnel in improving the skills and competence and competitiveness of the graduates.
