Injury Storm Becomes A Black Goat For AC Milan's 0-2 Defeat At Home To Spezia
JAKARTA AC Milan failed to score points after losing 0-2 at Spezia's home in the 35th week of the Italian League at Stadio Alberto Picco on Saturday (13/5) night WIB.
Spazia's two goals were scored by Przemyslaw Wisniewski and Salvatore Esposito, each of which was scored after a break.
This defeat made Milan fail to enter the top four because they were stuck in fifth place with 61 points, two points behind Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Spezia keeps their chance to stay in Serie A next season with them still in 18th place with 30 points.
The injured Milan were forced to rotate in their squad. They played without the presence of Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao in their attack lines and relied on Ante Rebic and Divock Origi.
Milan tried to get a quick goal and created a chance in the 6th minute with Sandro Tonali's shot from the left, but the ball still hit the post.
Spezia continued to get pressure from the visitors and almost conceded in the 24th minute. Bartlomiej Dragowski was able to deny Theo Hernandez's shot.
There are no more dangerous chances after that, even though Milan dominated the first half match. The 0-0 score lasted until halftime.
Entering the second half, Spezia tried to take the initiative to score goals. Mehdi Bourabia had a chance after getting a pass from Emmanuel Gyasi, but his ball went wide.
In the 56th minute Brahim Diaz stabbed from the right after receiving Tonali's pass and just faced the goalkeeper. However, his ball hit the post.
After the break, the two teams played aggressively. Spezia forced AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan to make a save through M'Bala Nzola's kick in the 68th minute.
A minute later Maignan made another save while thwarting Erbin Ekdal's kick at the near post. The position remains 0-0.
