Land 200 Hectares Prepared, IKN Nusantara Airport Project Begins 2024

PENAJAM - The central government is carrying out airport construction in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency, East Kalimantan, as a means of infrastructure to support transportation in the State Capital or IKN Nusantara.

The physical construction of IKN Nusantara Airport, according to Assistant II for the Economic and Development Section of the North Penajam Paser Regional Secretariat, Nicko Herlambang, will be carried out by the central government in 2024.

The PPU Regency Government continues to strive for the construction of Indonesia's IKN Airport to be realized, and the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding the construction of the airport has been discussed.

"In discussing the location of the airport construction, it is in the North Penajam Paser Regency area," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 12.

All land for the construction site of IKN Nusantara Airport is the former HGU land (business use rights) of PT Triteknik Kalimantan Abadi (TKA) which is located in an area nicknamed Benuo Takaitu.

The location for the construction of Indonesia's new IKN Airport is located in Gresik Village, Jenebora and Lango Beach Village, Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency, covering an area of 200 hectares.

The Ministry of Transportation, he said, is currently maturating the land that has been designated as the location for the construction of the Nusantara IKN Airport.

The central government assesses that the location of IKN Nusantara Airport is very strategic, continued Nicko Herlambang, because it is located between the City of Balikpapan and the new Indonesian IKN area in North Penajam Paser Regency, and will be connected to toll roads.

IKN Nusantara Airport will be built with a runway length of 3,000 meters, it will be accommodated by any type of aircraft, including the Airbus A400 type.

The new Indonesian IKN Airport, which is built with the type of international airport, can also be used for military purposes in coordination with the Indonesian Air Force.

The construction of the naratetama airport (very imported person/VVIP) is a support for transportation to IKN Nusantara.
