250 Electric Bikes Tried In The Kerobokan Tourism Area Bali
A total of 250 Beam Rover electric bikes were tested in the Kerobokan tourist area, Badung Regency, Bali, which is expected to bring micro mobility strategies to become alternative modes of transportation to help reduce congestion, air pollution and support the tourism sector.
Bandesa (Chairman) Adat Kerobokan Anak Agung Putu Sutarja appreciates the cooperation in testing the use of 250 electric bicycles of products from Beam Mobility.
"This fleet can provide a new face for Kerobokan tourism which is more environmentally friendly. Hopefully people can get used to using the micromobility fleet to meet their needs," said Sutarja as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
He said that after the COVID-19 subsided, foreign and domestic tourists who came to Bali, especially to the Kerobokan area, continued to increase.
"This is a positive thing for Bali tourism, and we continue to prepare Kerobokan so that they can be visited comfortably," he said.
Before being tested in the Kerobokan area, some time ago the electric bicycle from Beam Mobility had also been operated in the tourist areas of Tibubeneng and Legian, Badung Regency, Bali.
Meanwhile, Head of Expansion Beam Mobility Indonesia Valentinus Ricky Sjofyan said in this trial, the largest micro mobility company in Asia Pacific presented a fleet in three tourism destination areas in Kerobokan, namely Petitenget, Batu Belig, and Basangkasa.
"Later there will be several parking points scattered in this area to make it easier for users to carry out their activities around this area," he said.
His party also involved the local Balinese community to join as part of the Beam. "We have a team specifically trained to patrol the Kerobokan area for 24 hours called the BEAM Rapid Response Ranger," said Ricky.
This team will consist of local residents to help users operate the fleet. The entire bicycle fleet is equipped with IoT-based technology features so that each vehicle can be monitored real-time.
This allows Beam to implement geofencing safety technology, which can automatically prevent vehicles from entering certain geographic areas.
Drivers trying to enter the area will find the fleet they use slows down to stop, and they have to get out of the area to restart their journey.
The Mobility Beam ensures its fleet can be accessed by its users, each fleet is also equipped with use instructions and safety instructions on driving.
Since 2019, his company has received a Climate Neutral certification as a form of the company's commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
Beams are also targeting to go further in reducing carbon emissions by implementing a Reduction Action Plan by switching to electric fleets from certified renewable resources.
"In addition to celebrating the launch of the Beam Mobility service in Kerobokan, over the next two weeks Beam Mobility will hold competitions with special prizes," he said.
