Visited By Chinese Communist Party Secretary Fujian, Vice President Ma'ruf Discuss Investment Plan
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin received a visit from the Secretary of the Communist Party of China's Fujian Province, Zhou Zuyi, at the Vice President's Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 9.
The meeting will discuss investment plans that will be carried out in the future.
"With the entry of investment into Indonesia, I hope to support national economic growth. However, I ask investors to remain committed to maintaining environmental sustainability, involving local workers and MSMEs, increasing the capacity of Indonesian human resources, and supporting technology transfers," said the Vice President in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 9, confiscated by Antara.
The Vice President said that cooperation and investment aims to have a positive impact on both parties. He wants the benefits of the cooperation that is established not only felt by related parties, but also felt for the wider community.
On the other hand, the Vice President also conveyed about the value of Indonesia-China trade which continues to show positive developments, where the value of bilateral trade between the two countries in 2022 is recorded to reach a new record, which is 133.64 billion US dollars.
Seeing this positive trend, the Vice President requested that China, one of which is Fujian Province, can further open wide access to the export market of Indonesian products.
"I encourage Fujian Province to widen market access for Indonesian products. Especially for seafood products, tropical fruits, and swallow's nest," he said.
"I hope for your support, there are concrete steps to overcome obstacles so that the export of Indonesian swallow's nest products to China can increase," he said.
The vice president also hopes that Zhou Zuyi's visit with the delegation to Indonesia can bring good benefits to friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
In line with the Vice President, Zhou Zuyi expressed his commitment to continue good cooperation with Indonesia.
He will ensure that all investors from Fujian who invest in Indonesia comply with all applicable laws and pay attention to environmental sustainability.
"Especially for companies of origin (Provinces) Fujian who invest in Indonesia, we ask them to follow local laws and regulations, also ask them to maximize local resources and protect the environment. And I also ask companies investing in Indonesian industrial areas to also encourage the welfare of communities around industrial estates," Zhou said.

Separately, the Spokesperson for the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi said that during the meeting Zhou Zuyi also expressed hope that there would be cultural exchanges between the Indonesian government and China, as well as cooperation between sister cities or twin cities between cities in Fujian and cities in Sumatra and Bintan Island.
"The plan is that this sister city will be developed in various cities," said Masduki.
Besides Zhou Zuyi, present at this meeting were the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang, Deputy Secretary General of The CPC Fujian Provincial Committee Zhou Kuanfen, Director General of The Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People s Government Li Lin, Director General of The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Province Peoples Government Huang Jinfa, and Director General of Fujian Province Department of Commerce Huang Heming.
