Ministry Of Health Makes Komodo Hospital A Referral For Hearts And Strokes During The ASEAN Summit
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has made Komodo Hospital, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, a referral service facility for guests of the ASEAN 2023 Summit with heart and stroke complaints.
"If you have a heart attack, you must be treated quickly before 4 hours or the golden period," said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.
This statement was made by Minister of Health Budi when reviewing the readiness of the Komodo Hospital as a referral hospital at the ASEAN Summit today.
The Minister of Health said heart and stroke are the most causes of death in Indonesia and in the world.
"If it is handled before 4 hours, it is possible that 80 percent of the patients can recover, but if they are late, it is possible that 80 percent of the patients could die," he said.
According to him, the tools prepared at the Komodo Hospital are sophisticated tools that can be used to treat patients with heart attacks and strokes.
In addition, Komodo Hospital has prepared rooms for VIP and VVIP guest care, preparing other health facilities including outpatient services, hospitalizations, critical unit services (ICU, NICU, PICU), emergency services, and operating rooms, as well as supporting services in the form of laboratories, CT Scan 64 Slice, Cath lab, radiology, and pharmacies.
"I ensure that the facilities at the Komodo Hospital are ready to be used. Then this tool is strong, precise, sophisticated. I am here with a cardiologist and neurointervention doctor," he said.

In the future, said Budi, the readiness of the Komodo Hospital will continue for people in the NTT region and its surroundings.
"For me, what is even more important after this (ASEAN Summit) there may be tens, hundreds, thousands of people who can handle their health problems," he said.
