KRI Wahidin Sudirohusodo Prepares 11 Specialist Doctors At The ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA - The hospital ship belonging to the Indonesian Navy KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-991 alerted 11 specialist doctors, a pharmacist, 28 nurses, and a laboratory analyst during the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Rear Admiral (Laksda) Julius Widjojono, when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday, said KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo prepares surgeons and diagnostic surgical consultants, orthopedic surgeons, internal disease specialists (internics), blood vessel specialists, neuroscientist, pulmonary specialist, THT specialist (ear, nose, throat) specialists, radiology specialists, oral surgery specialist dentists, and dentist dentists who specialize in dental conservation.

Not only health workers, but the warship and hospital aid type ship (BRS) are also equipped with 156 beds, three ICU beds, and two HCU (high care units) beds.

Then, KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo also provided four rooms of sterile operations and one room for non-sterile surgery.

"KRI WSH (dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo) provides a pharmacy and a pharmacy warehouse, then a hyperbaric chamber mobile room, two ambulance boats, and a outpatient clinic," said Julius, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

In the domestically made warship, there are also radiology facilities equipped with X-Ray, CT-Scan, Panoramic, and 4D ultrasound devices.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD, Monday, directly inspected the readiness of KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo who docked in Labuan Bajo.

Mahfud said KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo will be tasked with assisting health services in Labuan Bajo, especially for delegates, ASEAN Summit participants, and sick security personnel.

"Mitigation and anticipation that there is a problem with health that requires doctors, at Wahidin Hospital there are all advanced digital equipment and 11 specialist doctors," said Mahfud.

Not only KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo, the TNI also deployed more than 160 main weapons systems (alutsista) for the security of the ASEAN Summit which took place from Tuesday (9/5) to Thursday (11/5) in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, NTT.

Two other KRIs that were deployed to assist security in the marine area were KRI Banjarmasin-592 and KRI Teluk Youtefa-522. Regarding personnel, the TNI deployed nearly 10,000 soldiers to help the Police secure a series of ASEAN 2023 Summit events.
