Indosat Subscriber Base Until First Quarter 2023 Almost Touches 100 Million Customers
JAKARTA - A telecommunications company from Indonesia, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, recently launched a financial performance report for the first quarter of 2023.
Based on the report, the company said that Indosat's customer base managed to increase by 3.9 million to reach 98.5 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in the previous year. In addition, Indonesia's 4G data users also increased by 5.1 million YoY to 73.4 million users.
"This achievement is reinforced by the growth of quality customers which resulted in an increase in average income per user (Average Revenue Per User, APPU) combined in the first quarter of 2023 which reached Rp32.9 thousand, up from Rp32.0 thousand in the same period the previous year," the company wrote in its report.
With customer bases developing in the first quarter of 2023, Indosat data traffic also increased by 17.3 percent from year to year to 3.375.7 Petabytes (PB).
At the same time, Indosat is also expanding its network infrastructure, with the number of 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) which has so far increased by 26.7 percent to 152 thousand 4G BTS throughout Indonesia to serve data traffic that continues to grow rapidly.

At the end of March, Indosat managed to reach 100 percent in integrating its network using Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) technology which was carried out in more than 46 thousand sites throughout Indonesia.
Currently, all Indosat customers can feel a wider network reach with an additional 700 sub-districts, better indoor service quality with an additional 32 percent of the population, as well as a faster internet experience of up to 2 times.
Not only that, the better download speed and latency of the Indosat network are able to increase about 20 percent of customer experience for key services such as video streaming and gaming.
