Jokowi Invites 6 Political Party Chairmans, Meredang Democrats Call The Palace For The Interest Of The People Not A Group
JAKARTA - The Democratic Party criticized President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for inviting six general chairmen of the government coalition political party (parpol) to the State Palace in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 2, evening.Democrats think that the presidential palace should be used for the benefit of the people, not a meeting place for groups of groups."The President's Palace should be used for the benefit of all Indonesian people, not for personal interests, or certain groups," said Democratic Party spokesman Herzaky Mahendra Putra in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 3.Herzaky regretted that recently President Jokowi has often been involved in practical politics towards the end of his term of office. In fact, he said, Jokowi seemed to have interfered in political party affairs until he was said to have banned the plan to form a major coalition."It is very unfortunate that towards the end of his term of office, he is even busy entering the realm of practical politics, supporting, especially the intervention of the coalition process or cooperation between political parties in the 2024 presidential election," said Herzaky.Herzaky asked President Jokowi to maintain the same democratic space for the entire community. According to him, it is better for Jokowi to focus on leaving work that is beneficial for the country ahead of the fall in 2024."The president should focus on providing the best work, which is beneficial for society, nation and state. Keeping our democratic space so that it really provides equal opportunities for all," he concluded.Previously, the General Chairperson of the Gerindra party, Prabowo Subianto, revealed that during last night's meeting, Jokowi only left a message regarding Indonesia's future economic development.
"We discussed the latest developments in the economic sector, the predictions of all major countries, the predictions of the World Bank, the IMF, all that Indonesia really has the potential to become a developed country," said Prabowo.
