Bawaslu Reminds Registration Will Be A Legislative Candidate Must Be Supervised By Makasimal
JAKARTA - Member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Totok Hariyono reminded election supervisors that the registration of candidates for legislative candidates for the DPR, provincial DPRD, and district/city DPRD for the 2024 election must be monitored optimally.
"The election supervisors monitor it as the implementation of KPU regulations (PKPU) and Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, so supervision at this stage must be maximized," said Totok, in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 2.
He conveyed this when attending the virtual Supervision Meeting of the Stages of Candidacy for Members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/City DPRD, Monday (1/5).
Totok conveyed that the philosophy of Bawaslu supervision is the supervision of mutual cooperation so that all elements in Bawaslu should jointly supervise and prevent all stages of the election. Thus, the stages of the election can run in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.
"Election supervisors must work together in the concept of mutual cooperation to provide the best service for all election participants," said Totok.
Bawaslu also asked the election supervisor to work full-time because the implementation of the 2024 General Election stage did not know weekdays.
Based on the schedule set by the General Elections Commission (KPU), the receipt of registration for candidates for legislative candidates for the DPR, provincial DPRD, and district/city DPRD for the 2024 General Election will be held on May 1-14, 2023.
