President Jokowi Invites Stakeholders To Take Advantage Of May Day As A Momentum To Expand Job Opportunities
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo invites all stakeholders to take advantage of the momentum to commemorate May Day or International Labor Day 2023 in order to do at least four things, one of which is to expand job opportunities.
Jokowi conveyed this through a congratulatory broadcast of International Labor Day 2023 from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, and broadcast on the official YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, Monday, May 1.
"We must take advantage of this momentum to continue to expand job opportunities, improve the welfare of workers and workers, protect the rights of workers and workers, and increase national productivity and competitiveness," he said, quoted by Antara.
For this reason, the President emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to improve the quality of human resources (HR) in Indonesia, both through the development of vocational education and improving labor skills.
The Head of State gave an example of the pre-employment program and work training centers that have been carried out by the Government, industry, and the general public as one of the steps that must be maintained.
"Upskilling efforts and reskilling of workers and labor continue to be carried out through pre-employment programs, as well as through the Job Training Center carried out by the government, society and industry," said Jokowi.
