Driver Of The Death Truck Transporting 40 Tourists Who Accident In Aceh Besar Becomes A Suspect

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh Police have named the driver of the " drink" truck who had a fatal accident in the Lamreh Aceh Besar area, Ilham (32) as a suspect in the incident that claimed four lives.

"We have named the driver as a suspect, who is currently being treated," said Banda Aceh Police Chief Kombes Fahmi Irwan Ramli through the Head of Ops Kompol Iswahyudi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 28.

Previously, a "carry" truck carrying about 40 people from Baleu Tanoh Village, Pidie Regency fell into a ravine in the Lamreh Blang Ulam area, Mesjid Raya Aceh Besar District, Tuesday (25/4).

As a result of this incident, four people died, and 25 others were injured, some were treated at the Krueng Raya Health Center and some were referred to RSUDZA Banda Aceh.

Those who died came from Bakti Sigli City, namely Rehan (14), Syakban (20), Saumi Ramadhan (18), and Mujibul (44).

Iswahyudi said that currently the truck driver is still being treated.

"We have taken several witnesses, both passengers and expert witnesses from the workshop mechanics," said Iswahyudi.

The truck with the police number BL-8179-AO driven by Ilham (32) departed at 09.00 WIB with a group from Pidie to the Krueng Raya Putih Beach tourist location, Aceh Besar.

The truck experienced a failed brake so that it fell into a ravine about eight meters deep when it was in the derivative of the Lamreh Aceh Besar area.
