Prosecutor Submits Cassation To Appeal Decision On Ferdy Sambo's Death Penalty
JAKARTA - The team of public prosecutors (JPU) filed an appeal against the decision of the panel of judges at the DKI Jakarta High Court which confirmed the death sentence against Ferdy Sambo. The appeal for cassation was filed to the South Jakarta District Court today.
"Today, Friday 28 April 2023, the Attorney General's Office submitted a request for cassation by coming to the PTSP of the South Jakarta District Court against the appeal decision on behalf of the Defendant Ferdy Sambo," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer Djuyamto in his statement, Friday, April 28.
In that petition, the prosecutor did not only make cassation efforts against Ferdy Sambo's decision. However, for the other defendants in the case of the alleged premeditated murder of Yosua alias Brigadier J, such as Putri Candrawathi, Strong Ma'ruf and Ricky Rizal.
Meanwhile, the defendants are said to have not filed an appeal for cassation.
"Meanwhile, FS et al have not put forward a position on whether to file an appeal or not," said Djuyamto.

For information, the panel of judges at the DKI Jakarta High Court upheld the verdict of the first-level court for the defendants.
Ferdy Sambo remains sentenced to death. Putri Candrawathi was still sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Then, Strong Ma'ruf was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Ricky was still sentenced to 13 years in prison.
