InJourney: The 2023 Eid Holiday Becomes A Momentum For The Awakening Of The Tourism Industry
JAKARTA - The BUMN tourism holding and supporters of PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney revealed the momentum of this year's Eid holiday as a catalyst for the revival of tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I see this year as the first revival catalyst for the tourism and transportation sector, as well as the preparations we made to anticipate an increase in traffic during Eid must of course be very mature," said InJourney Tourism Marketing and Program Director Maya Watono in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 14.
Maya said the momentum of the Eid holiday this time was the first Eid after COVID-19 and all parties knew that during the pandemic the sector that was heavily affected was the tourism and transportation sector.
The leaders of InJourney's subsidiaries ranging from Angkasa Pura I to Hotel Indonesia Natour are ready with preparations both operationally, guiding materials, and so on in preparation for the celebration of Eid.
InJourney is the first integrated tourism ecosystem in Indonesia and also the largest in Asia. This is the first time an ecosystem that combines aviation and tourism in one super holding.
Previously, President Joko Widodo reminded that both the region and the center for the number of travelers for Lebaran 2023 reached 123 million people, an increase compared to the previous year which was only around 86 million people.
According to the President, the main goals of the travelers are Central Java, East Java, and West Java. The three provinces, he continued, must all be prepared to welcome travelers because approximately 123 million people will go home together to the regions.
This figure is based on the results of a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation through the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT).

Based on the results of the survey, the origin of the movement of people is predicted to be dominated from Java, which is 62.5 percent or 77.3 million people.
The five regions from which travelers came from were the most, namely East Java 17.1 percent (21.2 million people), Central Java 15.1 percent (18.7 million people), Jabodetabek 14.8 percent (18.3 million people), West Java 12.1 percent (14.9 million people), and North Sumatra 3.6 percent (4.4 million people).
Meanwhile, the five highest community travel destinations, namely Central Java 26.45 percent (32.75 million people), East Java 19.87 percent (24.6 million people), West Java 16.73 percent (20.72 million people), Jabodetabek 6.52 percent (8.07 million people), and Yogyakarta 4.78 percent (5.9 million people).
