BRI Distributes IDR 34.89 Trillion Dividend Today

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk will pay cash dividends worth IDR 34.89 trillion to shareholders today, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

This is in accordance with the decision of the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS), where at the meeting it was decided that BRI would pay a dividend payout ratio of 85 percent of consolidated net profit in 2022.

Main Director of BRI, Sunarso, said that BRI determined a dividend payout ratio of 85 percent considering that the company currently has a strong capital structure and optimal liquidity in order to expand its business and anticipate risks that may occur in the future.

"With a dividend payout ratio of 85 percent, the company's CAR is maintained at around 20 percent for the long term," said Sunarso, Wednesday, April 12.

As it is known that from January to December 2022, the BRI Group was able to record strong and sustainable performance growth amidst global economic uncertainty, by successfully recording a net profit of IDR 51.4 trillion or growing 67.15 percent year on year (yoy).

Thus, the dividend payout ratio of 85 percent which can be distributed to owners of the parent entity is IDR 43.94 trillion, while the remaining 15 percent worth IDR 7.67 trillion is used as retained earnings.

Meanwhile, dividends that become part of the Republic of Indonesia for ownership of at least 53.19 percent of shares or a minimum of IDR 23.15 trillion will be deposited to the State General Treasury Account.

The cash dividends distributed include the amount of interim dividends that the company has distributed to shareholders on January 27, 2023 in the amount of IDR 8.60 trillion, so that the remaining amount of cash dividends paid today is at least IDR 34.89 trillion.

“BRI does business with the people and is processed by the people. BRI's profits are returned to the people through taxes and dividends," concluded Sunarso.
