Up 144 Percent, BRImo Records Transaction Volume Of IDR 322.83 Trillion
JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI through its flagship digital banking super apps, BRImo, recorded a transaction volume of IDR 322.83 trillion or 144 percent.
BRI Director of Digital & Information Technology Arga M. Nugraha said the number of users or users of BRImo super apps continues to increase and has reached 26.3 million customers.
During the January-March 2023 period, BRImo managed to record 225 million financial transactions, or jumped to 154.63 percent. year-on-year (yoy), with an increase in transaction volume which grew by 144.66 percent yoy to IDR 322.83 trillion," he said in an official statement, Sunday, April 9.
Arga explained that the growth in the number of transactions was fluctuating according to the financial rhythm of customers. According to him, the spike in transactions usually occurs during the changing months and wage payments.
On a very good day, our system recorded more than 100 million transactions. BRImo itself, for example, is getting used to handling close to 15 thousand transactions per second," he explained.
Arga said, the transaction figure made BRI unable to prepare adequate capacity for the smooth running of customers' transactions.
To maintain system resilience amid the spike, BRImo continues to experience an update, including increasing the sustainable computing capacity in line with the curve of transaction growth.

By the end of 2022, BRI has shown sweet results from digital transformation efforts by recording 98.41 percent of transactions that have utilized digital platforms, meaning that only 1.59 percent of BRI customer transactions are still being carried out in physical work units.
"At that moment, BRImo application users recorded 23.8 million users, meaning an increase of 2.5 million users in just three months," he said.
