Woman from Aceh, Courier of 9.5 Kg of Cannabis in Soy Sauce Jerry Can Arrested in Lombok
MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Police Narcotics Investigation Team (NTB) seized 9.5 kilograms of marijuana from a woman from Pidie, Aceh, with the initials S alias Yani (37).
The Director of the Narcotics Research Unit of the West Lombok Regional Police, Commissioner Deddy Supriadi, said that the action was the result of a joint operation with the West Lombok Police Narcotics Research Unit team in the Lembar Harbor area.
"In fact, we carried out a joint operation in the Lembar Harbor area because there was information that packages of cannabis in quite large quantities came from Sumatra", Deddy said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 5.
Following up on this information, the police conducted an inspection of every motorist passing on the route to the Lembar Harbor area.
As a result, on Monday April 4 afternoon at around 17.00 WITA, officers met Yani who was carrying two white jerry cans with soy sauce written on them.
"From the inspection, the cannabis was stored in a plastic that was in the jerry can. The plastic containing cannabis in the jerry can is indeed invisible at a glance because it is submerged in soy sauce", he said.
After his arrest, Yani was revealed to have played the role of a courier who received orders to make transactions with someone on the island of Lombok.
"The perpetrator admitted that he did not know who he was going to do the transaction with. Because the suspect was immediately controlled from Sumatra", he said.

As a courier, Yani admitted that he received a promise of IDR 20 million in wages if the transaction was successful. This wage also excludes Yani's travel expenses, which carry packages by land.
"So, during the 7-day land trip using the bus from Aceh to Lombok, this actor also received a travel fee of IDR 4 million. That's beyond the promised wages", he said.
By getting this information, Deddy assured that his party would continue to develop the case by tracing the role of the messenger who allegedly came from Aceh.
Yani in this case has also been named a suspect under Article 111 paragraph (2) and/or Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
