This Is The Response Of The Metro Police Regarding The Viral Evidence Of Used Clothes Distributed

Polda Metro Jaya denied that there were investigators who set aside evidence in the form of used imported clothes to be given to their families.

Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya had exhibited the results of the practice of importing used clothes on Friday, March 24. Not long after, an upload emerged from the @txtdrstoryWA account regarding the alleged abuse of the authority of confiscated goods.

"So I assure you that there is no evidence even though the investigators have left the confiscation," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to reporters, Monday, April 3.

The rebuttal was on the grounds that the management of evidence was not the authority of the investigator. Instead, the Directorate of Prisoners and Evidence (Ditahti).

"The evidence is in the directorate itself which is managed by the Directorate of detention and evidence, not investigators," he said.

Moreover, in the management of evidence, Polda Metro Jaya has complied with the rules. So, it is impossible for an individual to take or use it.

"Everything is regulated procedurally, professionally and proportionally. This evidence is in its context for proof to be used," said Trunoyudo.

Previously, it was viral on social media that the alleged abuse of authority of police officers was about the handling of confiscated goods in the case of imported clothing.

The alleged abuse of authority was uploaded to the Twitter account @txtdrstoryWA. In the uploaded photo, there are piles of used clothes from the prosecution.

Then, the photo was given a narrative that police officers would give the confiscated items to their families.

"I really don't have any, he said, 'You don't have to buy Eid clothes. In the office, a lot of confiscated items will be brought home later. You have a risk of having work at the Dirkrimsus, right," said the narration from the image uploaded to the Twitter account @txtdrstoryWA.
