Kimia Farma Invites MSME Players To Upgrade

JAKARTA - As a form of commitment to empower MSME players, PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) invites its MSME partners to the UMKM Academy 3.0 Graduation program at the Kimia Farma Head Office, Central Jakarta.

This event is the culmination of a series of UMKM Academy activities that have been held since November 2022. The event was attended by the Director of Human Resources Dharma Syahputra, Director of Product and Service Portfolio Jasmine Karsono, and State Enterprise Management, Social and Environmental Responsibility Keasdepan (TJSL) ) Ministry of BUMN Teddy Poernama.

Through this activity, Kimia Farma provides empowerment and assistance to MSMEs which focuses on efforts to increase competitiveness with an approach to the managerial aspects of MSMEs which are carried out intensively and sustainably, by actively involving professional mentors so that they can grow and become more independent.

Dharma Syahputra said that this UMKM Academy is the 3rd time that Kimia Farma has held it. Unlike the previous year, this year Kimia Farma divided the UMK into 2 levels, namely the basic level and the intermediate level which are seen in the aspects of digitalization and brand identity.

"MSME actors receive 4 months of business incubation training accompanied by mentors and coaches who are experts in their fields. Aspects of digitalization and brand identity are the basis for categorizing the MSE level. This is a supporting factor for expanding the MSME market share," said Dharma, in his statement, Saturday 18 March.

Teddy Poernama as Middle State Company Management, Keasdepan TJSL KBUMN said that he would always encourage MSMEs to continue to develop with various coaching programs, so that later they could compete nationally and internationally with products from abroad.

"UMKM Academy 3.0 Kimia Farma is the role of BUMN in improving the quality of MSME actors. Graduation UMKM Academy 3.0 will provide opportunities for UMKM assisted by Kimia Farma to be able to enter the BUMN supply chain, especially Kimia Farma through the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach," said Teddy.

Many assisted UMK participants gained knowledge and experience after attending the UMKM Academy. Mayang Adelia, the owner of Fragrande Kreasi Alami, became the best participant in the UMKM Academy and conveyed the benefits after participating in this program.

"While participating in the program, we gained knowledge about MSME businesses so that we could move up a grade. I am very grateful that I was included in the 10 Best Participants of UMKM Academy 3.0. I am grateful to Kimia Farma for giving us the opportunity to continue fighting and gain knowledge so that we believe that MSMEs like us can increase our branding and compete nationally," said Mayang.

UMKM Academy is proof of Kimia Farma's involvement in achieving sustainable development. The Company continues to move with the Government to support the economic growth rate of the Indonesian people through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), in accordance with the BUMN CSR program which focuses on 3 areas, namely education, the environment, and the development of Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK).
