KAHMI Regional Assembly Chairman Joins The Ethics Council To Investigate Fake Certificate Case
JAKARTA - Like tit for tat, the demands of a number of HMI cadres who asked the National Council of Ethics Council (MN) of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) to investigate the fake certificate case of Rifqinizami Karsayuda were agreed to by the leadership of the KAHMI Regional Assembly (MD).
"The obligation of all cadres is to maintain the dignity of HMI as a cadre organization that upholds intellect and integrity," said Rusdin Said, Coordinator of the Presidium MD KAHMI Palopo City in Palopo, Wednesday, March 15.
"Indeed, the KAHMI Ethical Council should summon Rifqi's brother to clarify the issue of the fake diploma. I think that's a reflection of HMI's ethical independence principle. If it is proven, please the Ethical Council give fair and strict sanctions, "he continued.
M. Rifqinizami Karsayuda is a member of the Indonesian Parliament from the PDI Perjuangan as well as a member of the National KAHMI Presidium who was newly elected at the KAHMI National Conference (Munas) in Palu at the end of 2022.
Former Minister of Research Technology and Higher Education M. Nasir has stated that Rifqi's master's degree certificate from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) was proven fake. Based on the investigation by the Kemenristekdikti team, Rifqi has never completed his studies at UKM.
Rifqi himself denied forging diplomas. However, armed with the team's findings, Kemenristekdikti withdrew the fake diploma and revoked Rifqi's lecturer status at Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarmasin.
"Please the KAHMI Ethics Council to hear the aspirations of cadres to summon and investigate the case of Rifqi's brother's fake diploma. Don't let it drag on, and set a bad precedent in the future, because a drop of indigo spoils the milk in a pot," concluded Rusdin Said.
