Four Months From November 2022 To February 2023, West Jakarta Police Confiscate Drugs Worth IDR 23 Billion
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police managed to secure drug evidence in the form of 23,025 kilograms of methamphetamine and 80,080 ecstasy pills ready for distribution as a result of disclosing the case which took place from November 2022 to February 2023.
"This is the result of revealing the case as proof of our seriousness in suppressing drug trafficking," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Pasma Royce, quoting Antara, Wednesday, February 22.
According to Pasma, if all the evidence is totaled, it is worth IDR 34 billion. Pasma said the drugs came from cases of distribution at the national and international levels which were uncovered by the West Jakarta Metro Police.
Not only that, but the police also arrested dozens of suspects related to drug distribution in different cases.
On average, they act as dealers, couriers, and distributors targeting DKI Jakarta and its surroundings.
Their target market also varies from school students, and university students to people who are already married.

Thanks to the disclosure of this case, Pasma claims to have saved millions of people from drug addiction.
Furthermore, thousands of ecstasy pills and tens of kilograms were destroyed using a high-temperature furnace or incinerator belonging to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
Pasma ensured that the suspects involved in the narcotics distribution activities would receive appropriate punishment.
"This is also a form of effect for dealers and dealers who often destroy the nation's children with drugs," he explained.
