Beaten By Village Residents, A Motorbike Thief In Duren Sawit Ask For Peace
JAKARTA - A young man with a full body of tattoos was beaten by residents of Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. Even though he managed to escape, the motorbike thief could not move because he was surrounded by residents. After receiving beatings from residents, the perpetrator was arrested at the RW 02 office, Kampung Malaka, Thursday night, February 16.
"There were those who shouted thief, thief, thief. It happened in RT 06. The perpetrator was arrested in Kampung Malaka RT 03, he was arrested there," said Neighborhood Head Sunarto to journalists, Friday, February 17.
From the perpetrator's body, residents confiscated the letter T key that was used to steal the motorbike. In order to avoid further mass anger, the perpetrator was secured at a resident post.
"We secured the motor vehicle theft perpetrator to the community hall. One person was temporarily arrested. I don't know the type of motorbike, the perpetrator was chased by the victim and his friends," said Sunarto.
Even the frightened perpetrators, at the RW security post, had asked the residents for peace. However, the neighborhood administrator immediately contacted the police.

Residents then contacted the Duren Sawit Police. Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit who arrived at the location immediately protected the perpetrator from the wrath of the residents. The perpetrator, victims, and evidence were then taken to the Duren Sawit Police Headquarters.
