Regarding Ferdy Sambo's Death Sentence, the Attorney General's Office: The Prosecutors Have Convinced the Judge

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) appreciates the work of the prosecutors in the premeditated murder case of Yosua Nopriansyah or Brigadier J. Moreover, the verdicts of the former Head of the Propam Polri division, Ferdy Sambo and his wife, Putri Candrawathi, have accommodated the demands put forward.

"So the public prosecutor has succeeded in convincing the panel of judges to charge him with the article on premeditated murder," Ketut Sumedana, Head of the Attorney General's Office for Criminal Law and Law, told reporters at the AGO's Jampidsus Roundabout building, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 14.

Prosecutors claimed Sumedana succeeded in proving the suspicion of premeditated murder. "What was proven by what was decided by the panel of judges was the same, namely Article 340 Juncto Article 55 Paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code," he said.

Previously, a panel of judges led by Wahyu Iman Santoso read out Ferdy Sambo's verdict on Monday, February 13. The former Kadiv Propam Polri was sentenced to death because he was found guilty of masterminding the premeditated murder of his subordinate, Brigadier J.

Sambo was found guilty of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code. The judge considered mitigating and aggravating circumstances.
