Barcelona Continues to Stay Away from Real Madrid, Xavi: There are Still Many Games Remaining
JAKARTA - Barcelona won a landslide victory over Sevilla in the continuation of the Spanish La Liga, Monday, February 6 in the morning of Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The Blaugrana won 3-0 when they hosted their opponent at the Camp Nou Stadium.
All three of Barca's winning goals over Sevilla came in the second half. Starting from Jordi Alba's goal in the 58th minute, Gavi's goal in the 70th minute, and closing by Raphinha's goal in the 79th minute, according to the records of the official Spanish League website as reported by Antara.
"It was a brave day. We talked about it in the first half. It's always difficult to win when the opponent has 11 players at the back," Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez told DAZN.
"However, we did very well and I am very satisfied with this result," he continued.
The Spaniard added, "We had a lot of games unbeaten and it was important we won like we did today. This is a big positive."
This result made Barcelona stay away from Real Madrid's pursuit at the top of the Spanish La Liga standings. With 53 points collected, the Catalan team is now eight points ahead of Real.
As for Sevilla, this is the ninth defeat in the league this season. They are still slumped in 16th position with 20 points. Only one point above the red zone.
"Everything went well for us. We are eight points ahead, but there are still many games left," said Xavi.
