Emirates' Airbus A380 Aircraft Will Fly For The First Time To Bali, Carrying 615 People
DENPASAR - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, is preparing for the arrival of a super large Airbus A380 aircraft owned by Emirates Airlines.
The plan is for the world's largest commercial aircraft to land at Ngurah Rai Airport in June 2023.
General Manager (GM) PT. Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Handy Heryudhitiawan said the management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport coordinated with airlines and Airport Authority IV as the regulator.
"According to the results of the assessment, preparations have been made such as creating an intermediate holding point for A380, shifting RTIL 10.5 meters away from the runway side, preparing designated gates for aircraft parking, number of check-in counters prepared and so on. Related to these matters have been carried out joint discussions with related parties", said Handy, Wednesday, February 1.
The date of the arrival of the Airbus A380 has not yet been confirmed. But the Emirates plane's request has been accepted.
"We have indeed received a request from the airline, but the airline still has to prepare it for the Ministry of Transportation about other flying permits", he added.
Handy said the arrival of the Airbus A380 airline would be the first time at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.
"Until now, Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has never served large or wide-body aircraft flights, especially the Airbus A380. Later, when the Airbus A380 lands at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, this will be the first scheduled Airbus A380 flight in Bali. Indonesia", he said.

From preliminary data, there are 615 passengers to be transported by the Airbus A380 aircraft.
"Currently we have obtained data from the airline that there are around 615 passengers to be carried by aircraft. However, we need to check with the airline regarding the type of aircraft configuration that will be used later", he said.
