LRT Revenue IDR 211 Billion, Up 57 Percent In 2022

JAKARTA - The management of PT LRT Jakarta said that the revenue of PT Jakpro's regionally-owned subsidiary (BUMD) will increase by 57 percent in 2022, which will be obtained from passenger tickets and non-tickets (non-fare boxes).

"Financially, our revenue is around IDR 211 billion. There is an increase of around 57 percent yoy from 2021," said LRT Jakarta Managing Director Hendri Saputra as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 31.

Operating profit of around IDR 8 billion in 2022, from the previous year IDR 3 billion. "There was an increase of 128 percent," he said.

Currently, said Hendri, the Jakarta LRT cash reaches IDR 100 billion, an increase of around 15 percent from the previous year which was only IDR 87 billion.

He admitted that as a whole, the Jakarta LRT revenue comes from regional subsidies or "Public Service Obligation" (PSO) from the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

"Operationally, we see our 'highlight' is 99 percent on-time performance, our minimum service standard has also reached 99 percent," he said.

He assessed that the improved revenue of the Jakarta LRT was inseparable from the increase in the number of passengers. In 2022, the total number of passengers will reach 1,877 passengers per day, while previously it was still 1,500 or below 1,000 during the COVID-19 period.

"More or less, the increase in passengers from the Jakarta LRT in 2022 will increase by 117 percent, from 2021," he said.

This activity is also related  to several activities carried out at the station and the increasing number of people who have carried out mobility in 2022. "So there is hope that in 2023, our target is around 2,500-3,000 passengers per day," he said.
