40 Creative Teachers Together With KGSB And APJII Will Writing Antology Books

JAKARTA - The Satkara Sharing Teacher Community (KGSB) in collaboration with APJII will issue an anthology book from KGSB teacher members in February 2023. This anthology book takes the theme Best Practice Prevention and Handling of Cyberbullying in School Environment written by 40 teachers and lecturers who are members of the KGSB Literacy Club.

These teachers or educators come from PAUD to Universitas levels, both from public and private schools under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Technology and the Ministry of Religion as well as university representatives in Timor Leste. This anthology book will be distributed to 150 schools in Indonesia and Timor Leste.

The theme of Handling Cyberbullying was chosen because currently the internet has become a daily need for the community, especially among students. Students use the internet to learn, communicate, and also for entertainment. Based on a report from the Indonesian Internet Organizing Services Association (APJII) as of 2021-2022, the 13-18 year age group has the highest level of internet penetration in Indonesia, which is 98.64%.

On the other hand, the use of the internet for school-age children also opens up opportunities for bullying in cyberspace (cyberbullying) which is currently increasingly rife. Based on the results of research by the Center for Digital Society (CfDS) as of August 2021, it is titledyeger-Related Cyberbullying Case in Indonesia which was conducted on 3,077 junior high and high school students aged 13-18 in 34 provinces in Indonesia. These results state that 1,895 students (45.35%) claimed to have been victims, while 1,182 other students (38.41%) became perpetrators. Platforms that are often used for cyberbullying cases include WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.

In the context of the determination and preparation of the anthology book, KGSB together with APJII and supported by the BK Teacher's House (RGBK) and WIN Media (Wong Nulis Indonesia) held a Training Class for the Writing of Anthology Books with the theme Prevention and Handling Cyberbullying in School Environments on Saturday, January 28, 2023 via a zoom platform. The researchers in this Class of Writing Guidance activity are the Head of Inter-Institutional Relations Division APJII, Danang Wijayanto, and the Founder of the publisher of Wong Indonesia Nulis (WIN), Ririn Astutiningrum.

Before entering the training stage for book preparation classes, the participants went through a selection process first and were required to attend writing training with senior writers and journalists, Titik Kartitiani which was held on December 17, 2022, and January 7, 2023.

The initial writing training started from learning to make offline and writing into popular essay writing. The training and mentoring process takes more than a month and participants who pass are entitled to take part in the next training, namely the Class of Instruction for the Writing of Antology Books.

KGSB founder Ruth Andriani said the anthology book of good practices from our members regarding the prevention and handling of cyberbullying, as a form of our concern for the proliferation and high number of cyberbullying cases.

"We hope that through what is conveyed from the experiences of KGSB member teachers in this anthology book, it can inspire readers, especially in the field of education, to actively prevent cyberbullying actions on students," Ruth said.

"Writing this anthology book is one of our efforts in socializing the wise use of the internet to the public. Seeing the fairly high case of cyberbullying among students, we hope that this anthology book can help teachers or teachers in overcoming cyberbullying cases," explained the Head of Inter-Institutional Relations of APJII, Danang Wijayanto.

Furthermore, the Founder of WIN, Ririn Astutiningrum, revealed that We are very happy to see the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of this Class of Instruction for the Writing of Antology Book, hopefully, the work of participants can be useful for the wider community. Because the task of dealing with cyberbullying issues is not only the task of teachers, but the need for active involvement of all stakeholders," he said.
