Deceiving The Courier Driver, Drug Dealer Mixes Methamphetamine With Rice To Be Sent To Customers

SERANG - The Serang Police Narcotics Unit has again succeeded in uncovering cases of methamphetamine-type narcotics abuse in the Serang and West Jakarta areas. In this disclosure, the Serang Police Narcotics Unit obtained evidence as much as 566 grams of methamphetamine ready for distribution sent via online motorcycle taxi (ojol).

Serang Police Chief AKBP Yudha Satria said the arrest of the two drug couriers was based on information from the public that there was a drug sale and purchase transaction in the Sukajadi Village area, Kragilan District, Serang Regency on December 25, 2022.

"The disclosure of this case began with the arrest of the suspect AG with 28 grams of evidence. From that arrest, the Narcotics Unit carried out developments and succeeded in arresting AL in the West Jakarta area," said the Serang Police Chief in a written statement, Tuesday, January 24.

The police chief said the two suspects had a role in distributing methamphetamine-type drugs that had been determined by the dealer, where the couriers did not know each other and the collectors, only ordered to take them to the location or through an online motorcycle taxi driver.

In fact, continued the Chief of Police, when the perpetrators made deliveries using online motorcycle taxi drivers by packing them mixed with rice, the aim was to trick online motorcycle taxi drivers so they were not suspicious of the goods being sent.

"Thank God, with the dexterity of the Serang Police Narcotics Unit personnel, we managed to arrest the two suspects," he explained.

Added Head of Narcotics Unit of the Serang Police, AKP Michael K. Tandayu, that the distribution of narcotics carried out by this suspect is quite large for the Serang area, with the missing link mode (don't know each other).

Despite this, Michael said the arrests made by his staff were a warehouse (storage) as well as the distribution of these illicit goods.

"The mode they are using is missing link, where between dealers, couriers A and B do not know each other and usually they like to change people," he explained.

In accordance with his commitment, Michael emphasized that he would immediately arrest drug dealers. Even if it is indicated later that there is an international network, his party will pursue it.

"We will continue to eradicate drug trafficking to its roots," he said.

Meanwhile, from the confession of the suspect AL that he received a salary of 5 million rupiah from the dealer. However, he knew that the goods being distributed were crystal methamphetamine.

"I was only ordered to send goods by getting a salary of 5 million rupiah," he admitted.

To note, the two suspects will be charged under Article 114 of RI Law number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of death or life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years in prison.
