The PSSI Joke That Stopped the League 2 Competition
JAKARTA - PSSI made a surprising decision. After holding an Executive Committee meeting, the national football parent organization decided to stop the 2022/2023 League 2 season.
Three factors are claimed as the basis of the decision. One of them is the desire of the club for the competition to end.
However, this reaps polemic. The reason is, several clubs feel their names are being used.
National football observer, Muhammad Rais Adnan said, this was like a joke. The reason is, there is a lot of drama in it, including profiteering names.
He also questioned PSSI's decision to stop the competition because it only listened to a few clubs.
"If there are only eight or nine capable teams, just continue the competition. For those who can't afford to be disqualified, it's also a law of nature. This means that the clubs that can't are really not ready. Just relegate according to the regulations in Article 7 League 2", said Rais when contacted, Friday, January 13.
He considered that the League 2 competition could still run with a bubble system. In fact, with not too many participants, PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru as operators can save costs.
"It's just a matter of continuing as one area, playing home and away to create a bubble, looking for the top four for the semifinals and finals, the costs are lower", said the man who is now the editor-in-chief of an online media.

Another joke seen by Rais Adnan is PT LIB's decision to find a new Liag 2 operator. According to him, this proves that PT LIB is no longer able to play in two competitions, which should have been realized years ago.
"PSSI as the policy maker should have realized this before the rolling out of League 2, and had already made bids for the operator of the second caste competition", he said again.
Regarding the termination of the League 2 competition, Rais Adnan suggested that clubs who feel their names were being taken over should speak at the PSSI Congress forum, which will be held on January 15.
"Congress is the highest institution in PSSI in making decisions. If League 2 clubs who are said to feel their names are being used plus those who do not agree with the league being stopped don't speak out, you can judge for yourself what they are like", said Rais Adnan.
"If no one really speaks out, it means that our football will be like that", he concluded.
