Arrested 19 Provocateurs during Arrest Papua Governor Lukas Enembe
JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said that as many as 19 people provocateurs were detained by the Jayapura City Police and Jayapura Police in the incident of rioting during the arrest of Governor Lukas Enembe.
Of the 19 people arrested, one person died at Yowari Hospital and 18 others are still being investigated by investigators.
"They were arrested for carrying out attacks on members and provoking other supporters, both around the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Kotaraja, Jayapura City and in Sentani", said the Head of Papua Police quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 11.
The regional police chief explained that investigators were still conducting investigations at two places according to the location of the incident, each at the Jayapura City Police it was recorded that two people had committed attacks on members, including throwing stones, and dozens of people remained at the Jayapura Police area in Sentani.
There were several incidents during the arrest of Governor Lukas Enembe by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday, January 10, both at the Headquarters of Mobile Brigade Kotaraja and in the Sentani Airport area.

Of the 19 people who were arrested, one person died while being treated at the hospital due to a gunshot wound and 16 people were injured. Those who were injured have been treated medically.
"I'm still waiting for a complete report because someone died. That's why I ordered the Head of Propam not to investigate whether the handling was according to procedures or not. If not, then it will be followed up according to applicable law", stressed Kapolda Faakhiri.
The regional police chief asked the people of Papua to remain calm and not be influenced by untrue issues.
"Let's protect Papua together so that it becomes a land of peace", he said.
