Had Dropped, 46,969 Tourists Entered Bali Via Ngurah Rai Airport

JAKARTA - The number of domestic tourists entering Bali on the Christmas and New Year holidays continues to increase. In fact, cumulatively reached 46,969 people. In fact, the new travel regulations issued by the central government have not discouraged some people from coming to the Island of the Gods.

Stakeholder Relations Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Taufan Yudhistira revealed that visits did decline at the beginning of the enactment of the entry requirements for Bali, namely by including a COVID-19 free letter as evidenced by the results of a PCR-based swab test.

However, said Taufan, after that it has experienced consistent increases. This is reflected in the increasing number of tourist arrivals on H-1 Christmas or December 24, with 10,327 people entering Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport.

"When viewed from December 18, 2020 (First Day of the 2020 Christmas Transportation Monitoring Post and New Year 2021) - December 24, 2020 the trend tends to increase. But the first day of PCR implementation has decreased," he said, when contacted by VOI, in Jakarta, Friday, 25 December.

As is known, the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster issued a Circular Letter Number 2021 of 2020 as a follow-up to the direction of the central government. In the SE, it states that the visitor must pass the PCR test H-7 before departure. This condition applies to users of air transportation.

This rule is quite surprising for various parties. Mainly because the time is quite tight and comes into effect on 18 December 2020. Therefore, the Governor of Bali decided to postpone the implementation of this rule to 19 December.

Taufan explained that on December 18 the number of arrivals was recorded at 6,102 people. This figure decreased when compared to the previous day, which was recorded at 13,473 people.

Then, on December 19, the decline occurred again, arriving at only 5,318 people. On December 20, there was an increase even though it was not significant, namely 6,289 people. However, on December 21, the number of return arrivals decreased to 4,630 people.

On December 22, Angkasa Pura I recorded an increase and recorded the arrival of 5,050 people. Visits are increasing, on 23 December the figure reached 9,263 people. Meanwhile, on the D-1 Christmas there were 10,327 increases.

If accumulated from December 18 to December 24, Angkasa Pura I recorded that 46,969 tourists had entered Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport.

Taufan said that even though there was an increase on the D-1 Christmas, but the number of arrivals had not yet reached its peak. He predicts that there will be a surge in tourist arrivals today.

"It is predicted that on December 25, 2020 there will be a peak visit," he explained.
