34.5 Kg of Methamphetamine and 9,440 'Imported' Ecstasy Pills from Malaysia to be Circulated on New Year's Eve, Successfully Thwarted
TANGERANG - The South Tangerang Police thwarted the smuggling of 34 kilograms of drugs ready for distribution. The methamphetamine and ecstasy types of drugs came from Malaysia, which entered via North Sumatra and was sent to Tangerang. The plan, the two types of drugs were prepared for the turn of the New Year.
From this arrest, the South Tangerang Police Satnarkoba arrested four perpetrators consisting of couriers and dealers, namely AF, D, R, and AS.
South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Sarly Sollu said the first arrest was a courier with the initials AF who was arrested in South Tangerang City on November 16, then. At that time the police obtained evidence of methamphetamine weighing 2 kg.
Then it was developed until finally the second actor who acted as a courier with the initial R was arrested in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, Wednesday, December 14.
Not only that, Satnarkoba is hunting for other perpetrators in three locations in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, Friday, December 16. As a result, two perpetrators namely D and AS were arrested.
"Four suspects have been arrested with the initials AF, then R, initial D, and initial AS, and this role include the courier and the owner after the dealer", Sarly told reporters at the South Tangerang Police, Thursday, December 22.

Sarly explained, as many as 34.5 kilograms and 9,440 ecstasy pills were secured. The plan will be distributed at the turn of New Year's Eve.
"It will be circulated in the Sumatra and Java areas, then the Greater Tangerang area. The target is for New Year's Eve activities", he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Resnarkoba Polres Tangsel AKP Retno Jordanus said that these illicit goods were obtained from international networks, namely Malaysia. Then it is circulated with the communication cut off.
"So these goods come from Malaysia by sea. Then it is received on the mainland, some have received it placed in warehouses, namely boarding houses and rented houses, after the goods are distributed. Communication between bosses and bosses is a disconnected system, so it's between one boss and another", he said.
The four perpetrators will be charged under Article 114 or 112 paragraph 2 of UU number 35 of 2009 for a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years.
