JAKARTA - Instagram announced a new way that makes it easier for users to contact business account owners via WhatsApp directly from the application. Where business people can now connect the WhatsApp number with their business Instagram profile.
According to Facebook Country Director Pieter Lydian, Indonesia is the first country in Asia Pacific to receive this feature. Through this feature, users can directly contact and start a conversation with sellers via WhatsApp with just one click after finding the business on Instagram.
"Instagram continues to be committed to helping MSMEs and business people in marketing their products and encouraging sales, especially during a pandemic like this," said Pieter Lydian, in a written statement.
It was further disclosed that to build further conversations about products with customers in order to drive sales. Previously, Instagram users had to manually enter the WhatsApp business number listed on the business Instagram profile.
"We recognize that many businesses are using Instagram as a virtual storefront, and WhatsApp as the final gateway to build further chat around products with customers to drive sales," he continued.
