Bad News! More Than 487 Million WhatsApp User Data All Over the World Allegedly Leaked, Some From Indonesia Too
JAKARTA - More than 487 million WhatsApp user data for the latest 2022 are allegedly leaked and sold on the dark web by a user with the account name Agency123456.
This news was first discovered by VOI based on a tweet from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Binance, Changpeng Zhao or CZ through his official Twitter account.
"A new set of 487 million WhatsApp phone numbers for sale on the Dark Web," wrote CZ on Sunday, November 27.

Based on VOI monitoring, the 487 million leaked databases on the Breached.vc site are combined data from WhatsApp users from almost all over the world (84 countries), including Indonesia.
"Hi, today I am selling the latest 2022 Whatsapp user database. You will get the user's latest mobile number. The total number of countries reaches 84. The total estimated record is 487 million plus the Telegram username," wrote Agency123456 in a statement.

Of the total databases sold, 130.331 are WhatsApp user data belonging to the Indonesian people. The hacker did not include the total price of the data sold.
Although the truth is not yet known, the CEO of Binance said that the sample shows that the phone number is legitimate.
"The sample shows that the phone number is legitimate. Please stay alert because downstream threat actors will use this data to carry out smishing campaigns (phishing messages)," concluded CZ.
