South Korea Ready To Help Makassar City Government To Build LRT
JAKARTA - Director General of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), South Korea, Junsung Kim is ready to cooperate with the Makassar City Government to develop mass transportation facilities by building an Integrated Railroad (LRT).
Junsung Kim in Makassar, Wednesday, November 9, said that Korea is ready to help Indonesia build the LRT as a public transportation system, especially since Indonesia and South Korea are business partners.
"Indonesia and South Korea have good relations and are business partners. We are also ready to develop public transportation facilities in Makassar, namely the LRT," he said, quoted by Antara.
Junsung Kim said KOTRA is ready to expand cooperation in Indonesia by targeting Makassar City, after Jakarta and Surabaya in the field of public transportation.
The meeting with the Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto in the 2022 Makassar Investment Forum (MIF) activity organized by the Makassar City Government was the initial part of the cooperation plan.
"Korea is interested in bringing industrial partners from Korea to invest in Indonesia to build LRT and other infrastructure. Their expansion plan is to collaborate with cities other than Jakarta and Surabaya. One of them is Makassar City," he said.
In fact, he said, South Korea is ready to help the city government starting from the development plan stage, namely the development plan from the initial stage, from execution to completion.
After the meeting with the Makassar City Government, his party will report to the Korean government regarding the LRT project, or other projects.
"We will also communicate with large companies registered in Korea so that they are directly involved in this project and see who is interested, and of course, they will propose (if required) so that they can support the development plan from the beginning," he said.
Meanwhile, Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto said the LRT is one of Makassar's strategic projects that will be implemented through an investment system.
"Earlier from Korea they were going to build our LRT, and this is proof that Makassar is going to a world city, because all of them come here and want to work together," said Danny Pomanto.

In fact, Danny said, South Korea is ready to make a feasibility study (FS) for the Makassar City LRT development plan.
"This is interesting because Korea will make our LRT, he will make free FS," he said.
