Looking For A Production Location In Solo, Hyundai Motor Invites The Indonesian Ambassador To South Korea To Meet The Mayor Of Gibran

SURAKARTA - South Korean company Hyundai Motor is exploring production sites in a number of areas, one of which is Solo City.

Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Gandi Sulistiyanto, said he came to Solo together with Hyundai CEO of the Asia Pacific HQ motorcycle Lee Young Tack with COO Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific HQ Lee Kang Hyun to find possible cooperation with the area.

"Because Hyundai produces in Indonesia with its electric cars, it is trying to embrace suppliers or contractors and partners from all over Indonesia," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 24.

He hopes that through the meeting with the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, there is a possibility that there will be cooperation with the City of Solo.

"Earlier, I received directions from the guardian, it is better if anything that can be collaborated on," he said.

He said that currently some of the Hyundai Motor products are popular with consumers, namely Hyundai Creta and Ioniq 5.

"Even to get Ioniq 5 products, it takes up to almost a year in line," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, the visit was still an assessment, including to seek suppliers and other needs so that Hyundai Motor could enter the global international ecosystem.

"They (Hyundai) are one of the brands that are currently highly respected in the world. In this case, Hyundai is trying to improve local content. We are exploring the possibility, whether there is or not (its potential) but first explored," he said.

He said that so far there are no plans from Hyundai for production expansion in the Solo area and its surroundings.

"Still checking the market, it's not fixed yet. There is no investment plan yet because I just heard the idea from the guardian," he said.
