Pocketing ASN Names As Party Cadre, Nduga Regent: State Servants Maintain Neutrality In 2024 Election
PAPUA - Acting Regent of Nduga, Namia Gwijangge, revealed that she had received reports of state civil servants (ASN) in the local government being involved in practical politics.
The ASN in Nduga, Papua Mountains, was directly involved in the management and even included in the management of political parties. Namia confirmed that she would follow up the report with a summons.
"I received reports that employees were involved and some have even become administrators, so we will summon these individuals," said Namia in Jayapura, Papua, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 18.

He appealed to ASN to remain focused on carrying out their duties as state servants by continuing to provide optimal public services to the community.
"Entering the political year to elect regents and deputies, it is hoped that in the future all will exercise their right to vote as good citizens and should not be directly involved in practical politics," he said.
He also reminded that if any ASN chooses to be directly involved in practical politics, such as being a member of a political party, then please resign as a civil servant. According to him, being an ASN is a noble duty to help the people.
"For this reason, I hope that the existing ASN should carry out their duties and functions with a full sense of responsibility. Employees must maintain neutrality in the 2024 Election even though ASN has the right to channel their voting rights," he said.
