Concerning The Loss Of Citizens' Money In Banks, Kediri DPRD To OJK: Accompany Customers Until It's Completed
JATIM - The Kediri Regency DPRD asked the Kediri Financial Services Authority (OJK) to assist residents who were victims of data theft which led to the disappearance of their savings in the bank.
A representative from Commission I DPRD Kediri Regency Masykur Lukman urged the OJK as the institution authorized to provide assistance to the victims.
"I ask the customer to accompany the customer until the problem is resolved. If the bank system is wrong, it must be replaced," he said in Kediri, East Java, as quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 13.
Masykur said two victims had complained to the Kediri DPRD. He said that one victim lost around IDR20 million, while the other lost IDR177 million.
For victims who lost about IDR20 million in savings, it was said that it was the customer's fault. This is from BRI's analysis which says customers provide personal data information in the form of passwords to OTP numbers.
Masykur explained that customers cannot be blamed unilaterally. He emphasized that customers only know to entrust their financial transactions with banks, not other parties.
His party gave 14 days to get the latest progress of the case of losing the savings.

He also appreciated the residents who dared to complain about the theft of this savings account. It is possible that there are other residents who are also victims but are confused about reporting or have already reported it and have not received the desired answer.
Indri Tri Wahyuni, one of the victims who complained, said that at first, she had received money from her husband. However, after checking it turned out that her savings actually disappeared. Initially, there was a transaction of saving money amounting to IDR 99.9 million that came out.
Knowing that, she immediately complained to BRI, where she kept the money. After checking, it turned out that the total money that had come out was around IDR177 million. The money was sent to various banks as electronic money.
She has also asked for an explanation from BRI regarding being a victim of theft and instead, she answered that the transaction was appropriate. In fact, she did not make the transaction.
"I hope the money will be returned. I have also reported it to the Kediri Police," said Tri Wahyuni.
Murdi Hantoro, the husband of the victim who lost around IDR20 million in savings, said his wife had previously received information for system updates at BRImo. Unsuspectingly, his wife followed the request until finally asked for an OTP number and gave it.
However, a few seconds later, there was information that money had come out with various nominal values, which had accumulated around IDR20 million.
"My wife tried to report to block it, but it turned out that it was not as fast as withdrawing funds. When the report for blocking was asked for data, at that time the money had run out of around IDR20 million," said Murdi.
